Snow! Snow! Snow!  It doesn't happen often but what a treat it is when it SNOWS on the Outer Banks.

I know you wish you were here to see this!  It started snowing late Tuesday afternoon and continued through the night.    What a great surprise to wake up to 8 inches of snow.   We are very prepared for Hurricanes and northeasters but NO snow shovel in this household.  We will be purchasing one in the near future ;) we had to dig our way out with a regular shovel.   All stores were sold out of Salt so we purchased "pool salt" and that worked great.
The Outer Banks is shut down.  From the Urgent Care in Kitty Hawk to most real estate companies, furniture stores etc.   Town looked like we had just had a mandatory evacuation issued. Only restaurant we could find opened was the Jolly Rogers in Kill Devil Hills.    The roads are covered in snow and ice and there were very few cars on the road.   It has been a great day, kids are using their boogie boards to sled down the hills at the Wright Brothers monument and Jockey's Ridge.  Cars are pulling kids on inner tubes.  We use what we have to, to adjust for winter fun.
It has been an exciting day!  I'm expecting tomorrow whether we want to or not most of us will be back to business as usually.
Hope to see you on the Outer Banks house shopping at sometime this year!   Please give me a call if you are coming our way.  I would love to help on your search!
