It almost seems as though the Insurance Commissioner wanted to wish homeowners a Happy New Year. Insurance companies had requested to raise insurance rates by 25.6 percent next year. In response to the request, there was a hearing to present cases from both sides of the battle. This is a chart showing the rate changes by territory. http://www.ncdoi.com/Media/Documents/12-19-14_Homeowners_Rate_Changes_by_Territory.pdf
